which type of pentium processor would be suitable for a Fujitsu Esprimo V6535?
My daughter was given the above laptop. It is currently fitted with a Celeron Processor socket P. The specs indicate it came with various processors below
Intel® Pentium® processor T4400 (2.2 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Pentium® processor T4300 (2.1 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Pentium® processor T4200 (2.0 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Pentium® processor T3400 (2.16 GHz, 1 MB, 667 MHz)
Intel® Celeron® processor T3100 (1.9 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Celeron® processor T3000 (1.8 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Celeron® processor T1700 (1.83 GHz, 1 MB, 667 MHz)
Intel® Celeron® processor 900 (2.2 GHz, 1 MB, 800 MHz)
Intel® Celeron® processor 585 (2.16 GHz, 1 MB, 667 MHz)
I would like to upgrade it to one of the pentium processors these can be got from ebay, I am finding it difficult to be sure which of the many Pentium processors would be suitable. I have checked inside and it is easily upgradeable. The Fujitsu website doesn't go into enough detail
specific Intel Part numbers would be helpful. I am confident in doing the upgrade include a BIOS update if necessary
Thx
David

things to know are
specs often cover more than one mobo design so they may have different sockets.
the socket fitted decides the complete range available, but not all will be supported
mobos usually support two FSB values....FSB values decide CPU choices
having two FSB values usually means having two ram speeds as well
designs include a heatsink/fan to suit processors of similar WATTS
Choosing a CPU with 2 Threads(not two cores) will increase power immensely
as will increasing cache size
notes: some cpus need the ram to run at certain speeds for them to utilise some
features and to be running efficiently. it wont stop the cpu working but it may slow
it down if you dont have it running at the right one.
its down to the manufacturer of the mobo to explain this in the manuals.
Unfortunately, you dont say exactly which chip you have fitted at the moment so
we are stuck. You also described the socket badly Celeron Mobiles are fitted
to a PPGA478 is that what you have got? well it must be
to sum up then
from your current cpu, determine socket fitted and FSB value of cpu
assume you can use the next FSB up as well as that one
and look for cpu's with similar WATTS
so if cpu is a 400mhz then next FSB is 533. You must exclude any higher ones
if the cpu fsb is 667 then the next is 800 and so on.
check on intel site which CPU's fit that socket and have either of your two FSB
values. Thats it really
go to intel site and click the specify criteria link for each of the different ranges and that will allow you to search
finally some early designs are Celeron Only designs. you have to read your manuals to find that out
but it is usually when the FSB only suits celerons.

this type replaced into obtainable with various processors intel® Pentium® processor T4400 (2.2 GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Pentium® processor T4300 (2.a million GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Pentium® processor T4200 (2.0 GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Pentium® processor T3400 (2.sixteen GHz, a million MB, 667 MHz) intel® Celeron® processor T3100 (a million.9 GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Celeron® processor T3000 (a million.8 GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Celeron® processor T1700 (a million.80 3 GHz, a million MB, 667 MHz) intel® Celeron® processor 900 (2.2 GHz, a million MB, 800 MHz) intel® Celeron® processor 585 (2.sixteen GHz, a million MB, 667 MHz) Any of those enhancements would desire to paintings, you will desire to attempt the T7300 however the BIOS would possibly no longer help it, in case you have study a piece of writing that publicizes it quite works then it probable does. The processor is quite obtainable decrease than a panel below, you will desire to unscrew the warmth sink and fan, the processor is socketed, unlatch and do away with, drop in the hot processor, latch, sparkling off any thermal paste despite if that's secondhand, and sparkling of any paste from the heatsink, reapply sparkling and reassemble. you will desire to source those CPUs off eBay or amazon as they are not commonly obtainable to the tip consumer I did a similar for my daughters' computer.
